1972 the school is established- it starts as a small school with only nine classes.
1986 the school moves from the building on Thalmannova street into the present building on Marie Majerová street in Ostrava-Poruba
1989 the school is heavily reorganized in terms of education
1990-1991 the first prima class is opened
1996 the first form of a distance study is set up
1996 the school is named after Olga Havlová
1997 is incorporated into the Association of UNESCO associated schools
2009 it becomes the faculty school of Ostrava University
